Our daily routine at Kiwi Treasures Early Learning Centre Nelson provides an environment where children learn holistically with socialcultural learning in mind. We run our program in line with Te Whāriki – NZ Early Childhood Curriculum where we provide a free play environment where children are challenged while working alongside their peers and teachers. We provide individual learning plans for children that incorporate what children are learning and documenting their time in the centre.
Our day is structured to meet the needs of the children in our environment. Children bring a long their own lunch box to Kiwi Treasures where we encourage and promote healthy eating in a social environment. We have rolling morning and afternoon tea times, so the children can take responsibility for their own routines and learning.
We still value the importance of group times, these can be both formal and informal. Once a day at 11.30 am we will have a structured mat time where children will engage in a range of dance, music, drama and stories. This is a time for children and teachers to come together as a group.
Kiwi Treasures provides a range of activities for children to investigate, explore, discover and make sense of the world around them. Kiwi Treasures Nelson provides an environment that is well-equipped, home-like and nurturing. Indoor and outdoor areas provide a wide range of opportunities for children to explore, experiment, create, imagine and be challenged.
